Hike Phoneline/Phoneline Link Trail

Sabino Canyon Recreation Area

 Level Level 2:  Moderate pace, with breaks
 Distance 4.5 miles round-trip
 Climb 500' elevation gain, equivalent to 50 stories
 Difficulty Mostly wide trail, climb over rocks. Initial mile flat, then steady, gradual climb  
 Time/Duration 8:30am start; 3.0 hours including snack/rest time
 Description We will start at the visitor center of Sabino Canyon. Climb Phoneline, then down Phoneline link to Sabino Dam trail
 Prerequisites Ability to hike 5 miles at least, NO injuries of any kind
 Footwear/Other Hiking boots required, poles suggested, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, dress in layers
 Food Minimum 2 bottles of water, protein food for snack
 Turnbacks Ok with partner & map
 Participants Members & guests (waiver required)
 Carpools

Carpooling encouraged. NW/Oro Valley & Eastside carpools will leave promptly at the times indicated.  Look for women dressed for hiking.

1. NW/OV: Walgreens 1st & Tangerine (11951 N 1st Ave, Oro Valley) - north side of building - Leave by 7:30am.

Per the Tucson Newcomers Club Board, proof of vaccination is not required for outdoor activities (hikes in particular). This means that there may be some members participating in the hike that have not been vaccinated. 

If you are concerned about hiking with someone that has not been vaccinated, it is suggested that you wear a mask and practice good social distancing throughout the event.  

Cancellation instructions: Self-cancellation is available for this event.  

If you need to cancel:   Open the event.

Click on Already Registered and complete the two step process to cancel your registration.  

Once you have successfully canceled, you will receive a cancellation confirmation email. To cancel the day before or morning of the hike please call/text the leader.
